I financed a riding mower 3/15/17. I was hoping to be approved for a Sears credit line, but we ended up financing through the lease to own program. Its not a bad deal, but the finance charges are a bit high. I asked if a good leasing history earned some type of good credit through Sears, but the sales associate said that the lease to own program is not part of the Sears company. Also that they do NOT report payment histories to credit companies either. If up holding a contract reflected on a customers credit history I would likely return for appliances & other items. The way its set up is similar to Rent A Center or Arrons. Its really is a shame. This will most likely be the only purchase we make there, just because the only benefit is to walk out the door with little down. They cater to those with bad credit, but my credit is nearly repaired, so I will not need further services with the lease to own plan.
